Dogs are the species closest to humans, but contradictions to this fact are evident in animal shelters. I present interviews conducted at a shelter by dividing them into bodycam footage of (rescue) dogs and humans. The lives of dogs unselected and avoided by humans are unraveled with topics such as dog porn, adoption, donation, and the management of shelters. The scenes intersecting the perspectives of humans and dogs disclose narratives outside the system justified under the name of “protection” and create a point of rumination on the beings closest to humans.
